I would encourage you to vote only for me. This is called “bullet voting,” and here’s why:
In a system with multiple candidates running for limited seats – The school committee election. bullet voting makes sure that the favored candidate gets the maximum support from the voter.
YES ultimately two candidates will win, however voting for a single candidate increases your favorite candidates TOTAL vote count, while NOT increasing the two opposition candidate total votes.
This strategy increases the total vote count of the candidate that he or she most wants included among the three winners—without increasing the vote count of any of the other nine candidates.
By not casting those other two votes, the voter strategically avoids inadvertently helping any other candidate gain more votes than the candidate they truly prefer and whose win they want to secure more than any other.
